Government and Economy

Krasnorussia is governed as a military state, since as far as it is concerned, the country is in a perpetual state of war with its neighbor, White Russia. However, this does not mean that the military has the right to intervene in aspects of domestic life such as the economy.

The Krasnorussian economy manages to maintain a free market structure, where products and their prices are subject to change at the whim of the merchants. The Krasnorussian government only has control over a single market - arms manufacturing - but does not allow civilians to own firearms exceeding a caliber of .22 or any type of automatic weapon. Government control over the markets is limited to guarding against fraud, which is a police matter. Production markets such as agriculture, industry, entertainment, electronic and others fall under the control of corporations, some local and some international. The majority of foreign companies in Krasnorussia are Chinese.

The current head of state of Krasnorussia assumes the title of Chairman and serves as the moderator of the governing body, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, namely five high-ranking officers elected to office by members of the armed forces. These are namely the General of the Army (the rank of Marshal no longer exists), the General of the Air Force, Admiral of the Navy, General of the SpetsNaz, and the Chairman himself, who can be from any of the four service branches.

Life in Krasnorussia

By Krasnorussian law, all males whom have siblings that reach the military age of 18 are to serve for 4 years in the Red Army. Failure to comply is equal to desertion. Despite this law, few male citizens fail to volunteer for service, since life in the Krasnorussian Red Army still allows one to serve on the home front and oftentimes allows the servicemen to work from home - that is, to head off to base at the start of the day and return home at the end of it.

Krasnorussian women, some of whom are also serving in the armed forces, also experience a large measure of liberty, frequenting the numbered nightclubs (establishments that serve alcohol are marked with numbers) of Vladivostok and its numerous Chinese-administered shopping centers. The Krasnorussian woman is independent, many of whom are finding successful careers either at home on the domestic or war front, or abroad.

Controversies

Krasnorussia is frequently misunderstood to be a Communist country, because of its name, its flag, and of its outward similarities to the Soviet Union. This is simply not the case. Krasnorussia's name can either mean "Red Russia" or "Beautiful Russia". Red Russia refers to the militarist country, red being the color of the blood shed by its soldiers in defense of its freedom. Beautiful Russia refers to the rich, fertile land inhabited by the civilian population. The flag bears resemblance to the flags of the old Red Army of the Soviet Union and the national flag of Viet Nam. Some of the symbolisms are the same, while some aspects are completely different. The five points of the star represent the Army, Air Force, Navy, Special Forces and the civilian population of Krasnorussia (commonly represented as the point pointing upwards). The number 1918 represents the first year that Red Army went to war against the White Army, although the Krasnorussian Red Army is a far cry from the unjust Soviet Red Army. Finally, the use of the Communist term "comrade" is only used within the armed forces to denote kinship and respect towards officers. For example, an enlisted man talking to a captain would not say "sir". Rather he would say, "Comrade Captain." Equality is a key concept within the Red Army, which also teaches its soldiers to respond to orders through respect rather than fear.
